Dear sir,
I would like to make a tip to install USB scanner from Plustex. I use
RedHat7.3 and KYE-Genius scanner HR6E, USB connection. When follow
INSTALL of driver Plustex either version 41 or 42 to modified file
"modules.conf" by adding 3 lines, I cannot success "make load" since
"insmode" will report fail. The fail is due to "port address" or "IRQ"
error by "insmode" checking.
Tip of solution
1. modify plustex.conf as "man sane-plustex" instructed by
1.1 adding [USB] vendor model ID (checking by command "lsusb" to see
what USB scanner's vender / model name that scanner connecting to USB
port).
1.2 adding device=/dev/usb/scanner0 (checking by command "lsusb" to
see which USB port or device name that scanner connecting to; my case is
scanner0).
2. modify modules.conf as INSTALL instructed by
2.1 add first line per INSTALL instruction.
2.2 Neglect second line of INSTALL instruction.
2.3 Add third line per INSTALL instruction except to port address use
"port=0x000", then OK.
By method above, I can finish make load and insmode pass, please check
Plustex driver install by use command "modprobe pt_drv".
