Hi,
I'm trying to install my HP 2100c scanner in Linux (Slackware 8.0,
kernel 2.4.18, Sane 1.0.8).
The scanner is found in /proc/bus/usb/devices, but it doesn't appear in
/proc/bus/usb/drivers. When I do modprobe scanner then a usb scanner is
listed, but it doesn't seem to solve my problems.
The scanner is not found by SANE, even though it's connected and listed
in /proc/bus/usb/devices. Sane-find-devices also doesn't find a scanner,
when using verbose output it comes up with error messages 'failed to
open (Invalid argument)' for /dev/usb/scanner* and /dev/usbscanner*.
When I make sanei/sanei_usb.c a little more verbose the error always is
'open failed: No such device'. But of course the devices do exist (mknod
-m 0666 usbscanner0-15 c 180 48-63, and also for /dev/usb/scanner0-15).
And to make sure rights are not the problem I've tested as root, but
without luck.
I've probably missed someting, could someone please give me some tips on
how to get my scanner working?
Thanks in advance,
Arjan
