Hi there,
I currently received a mail from John van Bergem, that his
EPSON 1260 died too (two different ones)...
First of all sorry 'bout this, but as long as I don't have any
test device to cross-check, I can't check this!
There seems to be a problem of the correct motor parameters
I guess, especially when scanning at high resolutions.
Please don't use the driver as long as I haven't cross-checked
the problem!!!
There might be somebody outside, who is able and willing to
do some tests:
- enable the debug output:
export SANE_DEBUG_PLUSTEK=20
- perform a scan at 50, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, 600, 800, 1200 dpi
(8 bit color mode and 14bit color mode)
but only a few mm - never the whole page
- send me the output of each scan and might describe the noise of the
motor
That's all I could do now. If I manage to get a test device, I'd like
to cross check the PWM settings of the device with the ones that
EPSON uses (usb-snoopy or something like that)
