Port 3BC does not make use of any advanced modes; scanning will be
very slow if it is possible at all. Did you get a message when you
loaded the pt_drv that a scanner had been found?. If not, (did you
use the port=0x3bc option?) try another port first and see if the
scanner is found there (lpt1 at 378 is best). If it is not found
there, check some of the past messages to this mailing list; many
helpful notes have been published there.
