Check.  It was there.  I got it, and gpsim almost compiled.

	That matches what happened here.  I think I saw a bunch of
errors with readline.h.

	I did try that and the compilation aborts with

configure:2296: error: Cannot find gtkextra-2.0 package

	I have also run in to another troubling gotcha which I didn't
expect at all.  Some of the libraries want me to have a 
 kernel-image-2.4.27-2-386 installation.

	I am not sure if I must boot the old kernel any time I need to
use the libraries or if that image is a sort of library, but it seems
kind of odd.

	It seems that the new old glib I installed fixed most of the
problems so the new source you put in to the repository will probably
be my best bet.  What exactly am I looking for to get the new source?
