	This is the same computer all right, but I had a small
disaster last June because I didn't know that, if you use the
Debian-stable designation for upgrading, it gets periodicly switched
to the latest stable distribution.  That was Woody and is now Sarge.
If you update or add new software, the package management system
eventually tells you that it needs to toss out your old system and
upgrade everything insite.  There is actually a proper way to do this,
but you can wreck your system if you don't do it right which I didn't
and ended up rebuilding from scratch and then restoring from backups.
I might have restored some libraries that are obsolete as there was a
readline.h right where you expected it to be.  When I installed
readline4-dev libraries, that fixed the input.cc problems.
Unfortunately, we aren't out of the woods yet though it looks as if we
are in site of the goal.  After 24 minutes of compilation, we get:
