Robin, too much errors in your assumptions:
- pt_drv is not needed, it's only necessary for Plustek parallelport
scanner
- the only backend you need is the Plustek backend
- disable the Epson backend in dll.conf
- the kernel is not really problem, but might be as Gene
already stated
- the plustek.conf file is correctly
- no need to address g-jaeger and g.jaeger and additionally
the list, all in all I got the mail 5 times...
