Hi Andreas,

the lamp state is toggled by one bit in the ScanControl Register
(grep for AsicReg.RD_ScanControl).This register is often set,
but I think the lamp-bit is only set upon starting the scan.
You might have a look in file ptdrv.c at function 
static void ptdrvLampTimerIrq( ULong ptr )
here you'll find an example howto switch off the lamp.

There's one thing which might will cause some trouble. Each
time you start to scan, the scanner will be calibrated. You might
need that step too, but the lamp needs to be on during this step.
So if you switch off the lamp, do it after the calibration step
(in function ptdrvRead().
