Sadly microchip's USB support is low-speed only (mice, keyboards, etc.).
I called microchip a few months ago about this, as there is a
preliminary device announcement on their site as a future part, and was
advised that it would be months away. At the embedded sys conference in
SF I pestered them further and was told (1) we are behind the curve on
USB, we get questions about it all the time and (2) its going to be 6
months or more away. Ack.
At one point in 1998 I had a 8051-based very very minimally functional
USB audio device operating with Win98. I foolishly didn't finish the
project, but I've been thinking of picking it up again since USB audio
devices are supported in linux. (But with PIC instead).
Has anyone interfaced a PIC with a high-speed USB peripheral controller
chip? This is probably better asked on the piclist, but thought I'd try
here first.
tia!

Bill Gates is a CROOK and *millions* of tax dollars have been spent
prosecuting and convicting Microsoft of illegal business practices. Do
not give them another dime until they have repaid the US government
these costs.
