I highly recommended using C compiler for PIC from Hi-Tech
(http://www.htsoft.com). They have a demo version for 21-day
free using, and as well as a lite version of that.

Subject: recommended C compiler ??
Hi,
Anyone have a recommended C compiler for the PIC?
http://www.gnupic.org/
lists Erasmo Brenes as the 'new' maintainer for a compiler;
however, the listed email addr is dead. Also, the code
could, umm, use some cleanup.
So I scanned this mailing list archives. I note that Scott
Dattalo has a compiler SDCC that is not even listed on the
website compilers page (what's up with that?)
I'd like to use a compiler, and don't want to get stuck going
down a rat-hole. Soo ... let me know
