Okay, last bit of info:
I've narrowed it down to setting the CCP2CON register is what prevents
PORTC:1 from being read properly.
Why would this be? I have PORTC:1 set as an input, and if I loop over it
displaying the values on PORTD (a bunch of LEDs), it shows the right thing,
until I set CCP2CON (I'm trying to set it to 0x04, to capture every falling
edge).
Well, I give up for now. Hopefully someone will have some insight. Thanks!
