I am sure this has already been done but has anyone asked MicroChip for the
codes?

It doesn't work:

[antonio@axc antonio]$ picp /dev/ttyS1 16f877 -rc
configuration bits: 0x0400
[antonio@axc antonio]$ picp /dev/ttyS1 16f877 -ep
program memory: not blank
failed to erase program space
[antonio@axc antonio]$

There is a special procedure to erase all flash device. I just don't
know what is the protocol to say to PicStart Plus to do it.
We need to do a reverse engeneering, on MPLAB 5.70 (min.) that has a
specific bottom with label "ERASE FLASH DEVICE"

Do anydbody know about a M$-WINDOWS program to capture the Serial port?
Here I have the flash devices and MPLAB 5.70 and MPLAB 6. So I can do
it.
