The change from addresses to pointers in gtk+extra was there in version
0.99.9 (perhaps more recent too). I don't know exactly which version
the change was made.
The nessessary changes to gpsim was there in gpsim ver. 0.20.0.
Following the link to gtkextra on the page:
http://www.debian.org/Packages/unstable/electronics/gpsim.html
... gets you to version 0.99.5, and that's odd since Joop packaged 0.99.9.
I run debian, but haven't tried the debs.
