That particular thought did cross my mind, no denying.
But I decided against it, since:
1) It's dishonest - even though I've donated tens of thousands of lines
    of code to the global community under gpl, lgpl, bsd and pd, the
    act of ripping off someone's gpl code into a proprietary black box
    is surely a bad karma magnet.
2) Code protect is not worth a damn - there are companies which offer
    a service of uplifting images from supposedly 'code-protected' PICs,
    seemingly via some esoteric h/w techniques.
