Perhaps I should have been more direct. I will not apply the patch you
posted to the list. It modifies the common library functions that are
used by all gputils programs. This change should be limited to gpasm.
I expected to see an new patch, but didn't. Did I miss it?
You did send me your example code. I intended to respond, but I forgot
to. Sorry.
I didn't see a big positive response to your message on the list.
Without it, I am not inclined to add this special feature to gpasm.
You have a few options:
- Maintain a patch that adds the feature. If you create a patch that
only effects gpasm, I will put a copy of the patch on the gputils website.
- Put your code in macros and use the existing LOCAL directive in gpasm.
- Split your code into separate files so there are no naming
collisions. This might be best anyway. If it is in a library the
linker will only include the code it needs.
- Write a script or separate scanner to preprocess the files. I can
send you some examples of this solution if you need it.
