Good point, but it's a somewhat cruel suggestion to make when a program 
is already enmeshed in one set of widgets.

I'm not a fan of gtk from a coding point of view, but finished gtk apps 
do have a better-than-average look and feel.

FLTK with a third-party multicolumn list widget might work well, though 
the breadboard component could be tricky. But it'd run like a bat out of 
hell, and be trivial to build on windows as well as *nix.

As for qt - nice toolkit, shame it ain't Free Software (in the GNU sense 
of the word).
