Hi:

For many years I have had to create breadboard units for a variety of
applications. I too have tried transfer-printed PCBs, without any luck. I
now use hand-soldered point-to-point wiring using solder-through magnet
wire. It can be routed as you please, corrected fairly easily, and has
proven to be reasonably reliable. Depending upon how you do it, it can be
quite neat and tidy as well. Only problem is, you cannot use
surface-mounted parts. If you really are into those parts, you will have
to either use a service (See Circuit Cellar's many ads), or get a proper
photo trafer capability. Thermal transfer simply will not support the line
quality that you need.

Good luck
