The fix is in CVS.

As it stands, the problem with file names starting with numeric digits has
been fixed already for gpsim's command line interface. However, you have
to quote the file name. E.g:

gpsim> load s "198kHz.cod"

The fix in CVS will now allow you to specify these file types at the gpsim
invocation too. So, you can write:

$ gpsim -s 198kHz.cod

or if you prefer

$ gpsim -s "198kHz.cod"

Just remember though, if you're filename doesn't begin with a letter that
you'll need to quote the string at gpsim's command line.

BTW, this fix also allows spaces in file names too.

I attached a patch if you don't feel like waiting for CVS
