I think the most useful thing to do would be to concentrate on where the
differences exist between using Linux tools (i.e. gputils) and any other
Windblows based environment.
There are already good tutorials/web pages on many of the points David
raised and it would seem better use of our time (I'm willing to
contribute) to address the areas where the linux solution is different.
The needs of New or Experience Linux users and New or Experienced PIC
developers need to be addressed as each of the four groups will have
different "up front" issues.
As to Byron's suggestion "One language. Preferably relocatable
assembler. " I have to agree. It may be a bit of a steeper learning
curve for a newbie, but you don't have to unlearn your absolute mode bad
habits and after all you don't have to launch into multi-module,
multi-segment code just to blink a led !
