That's a good summary BAJ.  With a compiler that may on the odd occasion
produce some duff code it is important to be able to look at the .asm
files a see why the compiled code doesn't do what you expect.  If
nothing else you need to be able to see if changing your C code to try
and avoid the compiler bug has worked or not.

I'm just about to get my programmer working with 16bit parts so I'll be
interested in seeing how SDCC performs.  I took a look at the code it
produced for 14bit parts a month or so back :-(
