Yes it works on Linux as well. Firstly I built gtk+-extra-2.1.1.tar.gz and
then I built latest gpsim cvs successfully after I downgraded flex to 2.5.4
according to your suggestions. Thanks.

On Windows I just downloaded your snapshot. It works right away. Actually
now
I have similar setup in Windows as in Linux: SDCC, gputils and gpsim. On
Linux
I have MPLAB C18 and C30 working as well under Wine. Therefore all the major

software developemnt tools are working on both platforms. MPLAB IDE itself
is
not working under Wine though but it is not a problem.

On the programmer side, I have PICkit 1 working under both Linux and
Windows.
ICD2 is not really working under Linux yet even though LPLAB seems
promissing.
Wisp628 is also working under both platform.

So the first step of my Linux PIC development experiment (development tools
setup)
is almost over. The next step is to learn to use the tools. I plan to use
the
PICkit 1 and PIC FS USB as the hardware platforms for the experimentation. I
need
to do some research to get PIC FS USB working under Linux.

Thanks again for all the helps.

Regards,
Xiaofan
