1) What does the asm code look like ? Anything odd in there ?
2) (This used to ask about running with s simulator but I now see it
works ok with gpsim).

6) Is MCLR decoupled ?

them but real hardware might.
PICs are static so a crystal that stops won't cause a reset, it will
just stop the program running until oscillations start again.
