Hi Craig,

There's one more change that I checked in on July 7, 2005 (but I neglected
to check in the ChangeLog).

  * [gpasm] Quoted strings can now be passed in a .direct directive.

This particular change allows one to use quoted strings in simulation
scripts embedded in .asm files. I only use this in gpsim in one place at
the moment:

http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/gpsim/regression/logic_test/logic_test.asm?rev=1.2&view=markup

To do this:

  .assert ",\"*** PASSED\""

This particular assertion always asserts (since there is no assert
condition), and prints the string: *** PASSED. But in general, you can
associate any quoted string with an assertion.

Scott
