The Olimex Pic-pg2c is a JDM type Serial Programmer with sockets and
an ICSP connector.  I haven't had any trouble using it with icprog
under wine. Of course I have only used it with the 12F509, 16F84A and
16F628 so far.

Well that leaves EasyProg out.

As I don't have the Wisp628 I'll wait for Rob to work out the kinks.
I'll have to drop the Wisp from the list, at least for now.

There is an Olimex PicStart+ programmer that does have linux support.
It costs less then EasyProg and does all of the Pics that the PicStart
does. Jeff Post has written a PicStart+ linux program that should work
with the Olimex.
