I just went through this a few weeks ago. What I had to do was install
gtk+extra-1.1.0 from the gsim site to "oldgtkextra" and then tweak my
gtk+extra-2.0.pc file (found on my system in /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/ to
point to oldgtkextra (note prefix):
prefix=/usr/local/oldgtkextra
exec_prefix=${prefix}
libdir=${exec_prefix}/lib
includedir=${prefix}/include
target=x11
Name: GtkExtra
Description: Extra widget set for for GTK+
Requires: glib-2.0 gtk+-2.0
Version: 1.1.0
Libs: -L${libdir} -lgtkextra-${target}-1.1
Cflags: -I${includedir}/gtkextra-1.1
This is probably an abuse of pkg-config, and if anyone else on the list can
show me a cleaner way to get configure to select gtk+extra-1.1.0 ahead of
2.0, some insight would be much appreciated....
