You probably did nothing wrong. Chances are though that the pkg-config
file for gtkextra, gtkextra-2.0.pc, is in a directory pkg-config knows
nothing about. There are two ways to solve this. You can either copy
gtkextra-2.0.pc to the same directory gtk+-2.0.pc resides or you can add
the path to gtkextra-2.0.pc to the environment variable PKG_CONFIG_PATH.
