Sorry David,
I deleted the row
/var/opt/mono/lib
from /etc/ld.so.conf, and now gpsim runs fine:
####@####.#### gpsim -v
gpsim - the GNUPIC simulator
version: 0.21.4
I got this gpsim from your page link (http://ktechlab.org/download/deb/)
Now I ./configure your package, with this result:
