I don't have any type of Mac to test on. Maybe someone on the list has
compiled picp for osx and might be able to help.

That may be a problem. Some usb-serial adapters don't seem to work correctly,
or so I've heard. The one I have works ok on a Linux/Intel box.

You want hardware handshake enabled.

I've got that part finished, but I've been spending nearly all my free time
(what little there is) working on the Linux code for the PICkit2 programmer.
I'll try to get picp-0.6.8 released before the end of the year.
