John has ported a simpler USB MPLAB C example to SDCC.
Maybe someone with a proper USB test bed can test his SDCC port.

The original ASM/C USB examples are at the following URL:

They are much simpler than Microchip's USB framework. The
host application is written using libusb so porting to Linux is
easier than using Microchip's API.
