With the newest specs, recently added but not yet published, I get:
For 129 PICs in xwisp2.cfg: 79 differences with MPLAB .dev files!
You find the figures frightening? Yes, I would agree and was surprised
myself to find so many differences! And it was the main reason to _not_
generate the xwisp2.cfg file from the MPLAB device files.
But when you check the differences with the programming specifications
it becomes less frightening and - like me - you would probably blame the
MPLAB device info files. For example:
- the 16F628 and 16F628 really have device IDs!
- the 16F91x/46 have 4-bit revision masks
- w.r.t. the config bits: there are many conflicting specifications
in programming specifications, datasheets and MPLAB device files.
- Xwisp2.cfg does not always specify the same number of config words,
because the user (generator of hex file) is 'normally' not supposed
to change the contents of some of these words.
