One thing that I am noticing in common with these available programmer
designs, is that they mostly all centre around the use of a 16series PIC for
the progeammers firmware, I am wondering is I am able to use any PIC for
this purpose, does it have to be a 16 series PIC or can I use an 18 series
with ease? I ask because I only have one type of PIC16 and it isn't any of
the types I have seen used so far(PIC16F917). Could I use a software based
programmer to load the firmware into this PIC, and then use the PIC to build
tha hardware programmer for the 18series? Does this seem like a sensable
idea here, or is there an easier way for me to go? Again, thanks fo rthe
help with this!
