Many thanks for replying to my post.
I didn't solve the pkg-config problem. However I searched around and
found a binary rpm for gpsim. This seems to have installed OK
although I have not had the time to play with it yet.
I intend to install pikdev to do parallel port programming with a
programmer I used with Mpasm for windows (I now use Linux)
Unfortunately SUSE 9.1 is missing some necessary files so I will be
installing 10.1 when it is available. (hopefully in a few weeks time)
