My main workstation is 64bit, as some things just run quicker.
Other boxes are 32bit, not everything is 64b clean yet.
(And they  are 32b processors too, affects the choice :)

I borrowed my son's computer and upgraded the firmware on the pickit to
1.10 with windows. I found a ZIF socket and adapted it to the 16f628A 
I'm about to use, then I figured I should write the code to go in the 
PIC next.

Australia extended summertime this year for some athletics event,
and I discovered radio clocks were available. I don't like changing 
clocks over when summertime starts/stops, redefining timezones makes it 
worse.
Radio clocks don't actually _work_ in this country, WWVB is a long way 
away. That can be rectified locally to the house. Probably.
Hence the latest project that made me replace my programmer.

I'll run pk2 on the 32b ubuntu breezy box, and experiment more on amd64
after that step. I'll let you know what I find.
