You're also going to need to upgrade gtkextra:

http://gtkextra.sourceforge.net/

I just installed 0.99.14. Version 0.99.9 on my web page will NOT work with this
latest version of gpsim.

Biggest thing in this release was a patch from Salvador Eduardo Tropea. He added
support for 16C712 and 16C716 processors and fixed several bugs.

Salvador has also submitted a patch for the LCD module that supports single line
LCD's. I should be making a new release of this soon.

Berndt Josef Wulf has also ported gpsim to NetBSD. A fairly minor patch to gpsim
was submitted, but he also had to find the NetBSD port of thr popt library.

Wenzel Jakob has ported gpsim-0.20.7 to Windows. No patch was needed. However,
the bleeding edges of CygWin and the GTK+ port to windows are needed. I tried it
out on a win98 box and it really doesn't work too well. Wenzel built it on an NT
box. http://wazlaf.lacademy.edu/gpsim-win.zip
