Stupid mistake: I had inverted the data I need to put into the TRISC
register to make the two leds OUTPUTs.
FYI I'm still programming the thing with the picprg-2.2 from '99. This
works just great. (i.e. I had forgotten to start the 2.3 version with
the mods that supposedly help 16F87x operations.....)
