I know this is perhaps too early but just want to let you know that the source code for the new PIC32 C32 compiler (GCC based) has been released. Maybe some experts here can already try to build the compiler under Linux. PIC32 website: http://www.microchip.com/pic32 C32 website and links to source code download. Now they have a 64K code size limit. This is similar to the initial situation of C30 compiler. Later the student version might remove the code size limit.
