I think there is no newlib (or other free C library) port for PIC32 yet
and that is the missing link to build C32 from Microchip provided
source code. So it seems if someone ported newlib (or uclibc, etc)
to PIC32, it is possible to build a legitimate gcc compiler for PIC32.
So I will keep asking in the Microchip Forum.
