Hi all,

I'm trying to get started tinkering with PICs, and the 16F872 looks like a
nice and cheap platform for my project. Being used to high-level languages
(C and such) and the comforts of "real computers", I'd very much like to
avoid coding the chip in assembly. I've been looking around and found a
couple of C-ish compilers, but none seem to list the 16F872 as a supported
target. If someone could point me at a compiler that turns C or some other
sane procedural language into 16F872-compatible code, I'd be happy.

I'd also like to hear about "known to work" combinations of programmer
schematics and software with the 872, I'm a bit confused about which pic
is compatible with which programmer.

Regards,
Antti
