No, the bug is in gtk+extra - it mismatches a g_ref operation with a
free, which breaks catastrophically if the object has multiple
references (or if the GTK build is using a different malloc, which can
happen on some systems). The fix is the replace the free with a g_unref.

I've attached the patch file, since finding it in Gentoo portage was
easier than finding the gtk+extra web site. Given that Gentoo still
have to patch it, I suspect the gtk+extra maintainers are not
maintaining it properly and still haven't got round to applying the
patch.
