I tried to make a downgrade from version gtk+2.18.5 to gtk+2.16.6
and to compile gtk+extra all walked out!
The problem is what I understood by reading this link:

gtk+2.18 version has the functions of gtk+extra natively and that is
what to wear in gpsim.
That is, make gpsim use the new features that are already in gtk +2.18
and let to need the
gtk+extra package .... if I knew it would, unfortunately I am a baby in
gtk+.
For now keep using gpsim console with the command gpsim> du r and gpsim>
du e
