They had a 16F85 on the roadmap (basically more RAM and program memory).  I 
would think that would be the obvious replacement (for that pin count).

Of course, the 16F627/8 is a pretty nice chip with lots of extras in 
hardware.  But, it takes a few more pins to do it.

I'm actually looking at the 18F family.  These should be hitting the shelves 
about now and they are so much nicer in so many ways (more memory, faster, 
bigger stack, better instruction set).  I am soooo ready to stop hassling 
over paging issues.  The programming circuit should be the same as 16F62x.
