Thank you for your informative and really quick reply !!

I'd like to add something... I'm not that kind of dumb first time linux
user.
But I'm at my limits if it comes to "what is needed" for a minimal linux
distribution.
I have to add every little /dev device by hand. I missed mounting /proc and
mknodding /dev/mem.
Kernel support for /proc was already enabled...

My system boots out of the bluecat linux loader. I then boot a new kernel
through tftp and
mount my root file system via nfs.

In this config vesafb doesn't work (because we are already in protected
mode) so I used fbvga16.
It worked !  Mouse works too, after setting MOUSE_PORT and TYPE.

But it only works with the network disabled compile flag (static linked
nano-X).
(I'm getting some kind of errormessage: couldn't bind to named...

What is missing in my minimal dist to get named sockets up'n'running ??
