: Thanks for your help. The Agenda really NEEDS Nano-X. X11 takes too
: much memory, so that I can not work on my projects easily (i.e. in
: Python).
: Nano-X should save at least 1M of RAM and probably much more with
: eXecute In Place of programs and libraries.

As well, I think I can significantly speed up the Agenda draw speed
with Microwindows by using a loop-unrolled screen driver. Currently,
all line draw and blit driver code calculates each 4-bit nibble for every
pixel, rather than grouping them together 8-per-longword when possible.
This is because the 1, 2 and 4 bpp drivers were written in about three
hours in order to get something to run, and have never been optimized.

I'd be interested in writing the optimized 4bpp driver, as well as possibly
some benchmarks to check out the speed possible on 66mhz systems.
Are there other folks with this interest?

Regards,

Greg
