Hmm. I guess I was thinking that it was just using the Wine loader,
but I suppose it would have to run the whole damned thing in an
X-managed window, so this will be an issue on embedded systems.
Of course CodeWeaver.com's Crossover product might solve this
problem in a better way.

I was going to port Wine over to Microwindows at one point, but
got too busy on other things. I think a framebuffer version of Wine
would be a good thing. I perused their site and noticed they've also
got DirectDraw going as well. I'll have to pull the latest source tree
and have a look at it.
