jpegtopnm input.jpg | ppmtopgm | pgmtopbm > output.pbm
If you're making a mask for a shaped window, the input image should be
black and white only and preferably a simple block outline- greys and
colours will get dithered into complex stipple patterns which will lead
to extremely complex window regions that use lots of memory and cpu.
