I'm not sure I understand here. What I propose is not to necessarily
remove per-driver defines, but rather to have the driver table
generated at compile time depending of what drivers did the user
actually include in the build.

Good point -- we can use a tiny C program for that.

I've been planning to take a closer look at Nano-X in a week or so,
hopefully I'll post an actual patch to discuss.
