I recently bought a scanner, (of make Techmakro, model s9400U-maxscan) which
has the LM9831 chip. The USB reports vendorID=0x0400 and productID=0x1000,
which is the same as that for BearPaw 1200 scanner in documentation.
Nonetheless BearPaw appears with a LM9832. I cofigured the scanner as if it
were a BearPaw1200 and am able to scan, but the quality is extremely poor
(dark, bluish and fuzzy). I tried to configure it as a different type scanner
(with a LM9831), but "sane" did not allow it. Is there anything I can do to
make this scanner work well under linux?
