YES YES YES...it finally works.....I managed to scan my first image......
Thank you to Gerhard and to Kevin for all their help.
What I finaly did was to add the library path (/usr/lib/sane) to
/etc/ld.so.conf and also run ldconfig (which was required as Kevin very well
pointed out).
So I would advice all people who have the same errors like me to backtrack the
mailing list for info. Sane actually works fine now.
