Hi,

Xsane, scanimage -L etc. all work fine. The only problem is that pt_drv
apparently is loaded on demand only
(e.g. starting xsane) and therefore the lamp timeout doesnt work by
default, but only AFTER the driver was invoked. I want it to go off
ALWAYS, even when I dont need to start xsane, as specified in my
modules.conf:

# plustek driver stuff
alias char-major-40 pt_drv
pre-install pt_drv modprobe -k parport
#options pt_drv lOffonEnd=0 lampoff=180 mov=0 port=0x378 slowIO=1 warmup=15
options pt_drv0 lOffonEnd=0 lampoff=180 mov=0 port=0x378 slowIO=0
warmup=1 orceMode=0

(BTW. the two last lines is the two infos that I have found in your
docs/faqs/archives )

Modprobe pt_drv works just fine, starting the timeout. But how do I make
it during bootup? In other words, where do I insert "insmod pt_drv" or
"modprobe pt_drv" to have it started during powerup? Aha, please dont
tell me about putting it in my local .bashrc or things like this ;)

thanks for the driver and the support,

Dominique
