Hi,

I'm sorry for your big problems with that!
But let me tell you, that's quite hard to check
all the different installations and other stuff.
In general the driver and it's sane interface 
works well.
Well, I can understand that you're pissed but you
should always remember that Linux and all it's 
hardware support is free and provided by a couple
of people who spent their spare time in writing
code and supporting unstatisfied users. 
Especially writing device drivers for hardware
which is not considered to work under Linux is hard
even if you have almost no technical documentation...

Hope you come back to Linux some day...
